Barrastaile, with it's spectacular Atlantic views, is the perfect location from which to explore Connemara. Visitors can go hill-walking or horse-riding in the area, or for the more adventurous there is the nearby Scubadive West or Killary Adventure Centre. Other activities to be enjoyed include golfing, sea-angling, fly-fishing, surfing and sea cruises, to name just a few. Connemara National Park and Kylemore Abbey are just a short drive away and the bustling town of Clifden has a good selection of pubs, restaurants, craft-shops and art galleries.
